Mother's Day

I saw the tears swell in a grown man's eyes as he prayed for the mother's on Mother's day.  It broke my heart thinking what it must be like to be without your mother.  No matter what age you are, you still need your mom.  I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful mother that is still so much a part of my every day life.  I listened to the family visit about what their mother used to do, what she would say now if she was still around and how they remembered her.  I know that mother's day is suppose to be lovely but for many people it is a hard day.  There is no greater love than the presence of your mother, and to fathom the thought of that being gone completely hit me this year.

My best friend, Genie, is a new mom this year.  She has missed her mom for years and there was a new light on today as her first mother's day.  Finally, she got to celebrate her little man.  I couldn't be happier for her because she is the most amazing person and has proved to be quite the little mommy!  I am so impressed with her astounding patience.  The love she shows for Tate is so heart warming and I could sit a visit with her about her little guy for hours.   I know her mom is watching over her and is so proud!

My own mom was away on vacation with my dad for the weekend so I did not get to be with her.  Although, on Thursday, we shopped our little hearts away and I enjoyed the time we spent together visiting in the car.  It makes me so happy to hear her say, "I feel like I am wearing you out."  I was exhausted by the end of the day and just needed a driving break.  So, she took over and kept me entertained.  Mom, is the type of person who usually listens to my life, but instead, I got to listen to her life, her goals, and new passions.  It was so refreshing to see this other side to her.  This mother's day, I feel so blessed to have her in my life.   I couldn't ask for a better person to call everyday with my complaints or funny stories.  She is always willing to listen and always ready to step in and "mother me" if she needs to.  My favorite part of her today is the relationship she has with Carsen.  She has so much love for him and he always loves playing with her.  Thank you for being such an awesome mother!  As always, you are an angel on this earth and many people are touch to have you in their life.

Last but not least, I love having a special day that is for Carsen and I.  I am the luckiest mom in the world right now.  Carsen is in another little "stage" and he is goofier than goofy.  Full of energy, smiles, giggles, songs and love.  He is making such great eye contact and completes tasks with so much purpose.  The songs he is singing are so beautiful.  I am not sure what songs they are, but I love to hear his happy little voice.  The love he gives me without even saying a word amazes me.  I feel so much love with his touch and smile.  I am so thankful for this stage he is in because I know it won't last long.  His favorite thing to do lately is to push mine and Matt's faces together to make us kiss, then when we kisses he squeals of excitement and repeats it over and over.  I am thankful for my little boy that shows me what life is about.  The small things are what count, patience is a must and a sense of humor helps a whole lot!  I love you my little buddy and couldn't imagine a day without your smile.  Thank you for being patient with me and loving me no matter what.

He was my little helper with the garden yesterday...boys and dirt...

I will be 20 weeks this week and I can hardly believe it.  I am one blessed mother.  My belly is growing quickly!  Tomorrow is our ultrasound!  We will be finding out the sex but will be waiting until the Gender Reveal party next Sunday.  I can't wait to get a sneak peak of the baby's little feet and face.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you wonderful mom's out there that read my blog.  You girls make me a better mom!! Love you all!
